Full Season Brown Mid-Rib – Harvest or Graze Any Time
New design, late maturing forage sorghum that allows for a wider harvest window of higher quality BMR forage
Higher yields and digestibility than conventional sorghum sudan hybrids
Excellent tillering, recovery and regrowth after cutting
Consistently #1 in cattle preference grazing trials
Wide range of adaptation because of its very high quality forage and superior drought tolerance
High green leaf retention, produces high RFV forage
Can be planted anywhere – harvest whenever you want and as often as you want!
DO NOT FEED TO HORSES
Consistent high yields with excellent regrowth and recovery
Juicy sweet fine stems for improved feed quality
Should be harvested prior to boot stage for maximum quality
Cut or graze approximately 3-4 inches above soil
Very good foliar disease resistance
DO NOT FEED TO HORSES
Early Sumac is an open pollinated forage sorghum that will produce seed and high sugar qualities producing one big cutting of hay. Regrowth is poor with low to no Prussic acid issues. Used like other forage sorghums but with lower seedling vigor (slower to germinate and emerge) and lower yield potential. It has a thicker stalk and is not as leafy as modern BMR hybrids.
Rox Orange Sorghum
Grain and Forage Sorghum
Rox Orange is a selection of forage sorghum released by the Kansas State Agricultural Experiment Station in the 1930’s for sweet syrup but is frequently used for livestock feed. It is a medium-early maturing that can reach 8’ to 12’ in height. It is distinctly inferior in both yield and quality to modern BMR hybrids.
Mixed Forage Sorghum
Grain and Forage Sorghum
This mix is 25% Early Sumac, 25% Rox Orange, 25% VNS forage sorghums, and 25% VNS hybrid sorghum sudangrass.
